Fren conceives and delivers oneiric, emotional instrumental music where sublime melancholy naturally coexists with spontaneity, flame and energy. The band is not afraid to fill their long compositions with multilayered complex landscapes, smoothly shifting between dreamy landscapes and unrestrained, carnivorous dynamics. The band was formed in 2017 by pianist Oskar Cenkier, guitarist Michał Chalota, bassist Andrew Shamanov & drummer Oleksii Fedoriv. Under Fren monicker they have played a number of warmly received shows and shared the stage with Caravan (UK), Stoned Jesus (UA), The Sonic Dawn (DK), Virgil Donati’s Icefish (IT) and others. Fren’s critically acclaimed debut album titled Where Do You Want Ghosts to Reside was released on March 6, 2020. Currently, the band is working on the second album that is due to be released in 2022.
